these soils. We suggest that all traffic, especially eavy construction traffic, be
kept free from the "modified drainfield" treatment ara, both before and after it
is constructed. There is about a 5-lOq slope of the present ground surface in this '
area. Surface water run-off should be diverted, as much as possible away from the
treanent area. This may be accomplished with a properly designed drainage ditch
along the lowerside of the driveway to carry away most of the surface water.
With the above setup it may be posslble to rest half of the system for periods of
6-9 months by shutting off either side of the drop box at the upper line. This ;-
should promote longevity of the system. Restricting the use of a garbage disposal `
and annual removal of solids `rom the septic tanks will also promote longevity.
Conditions at the alternate (future) area are similar to those found in the primary
area. Hcever, the effluent will have to be pumped to this higher area.
Tne above comments and opinions are based on conditons found at our boring a:d test `'
locations. Should different conditions be found at other locations, or if the con-
struction plans change significantly, please call us for additional review.
