f i <br /> MINUTES OF THE <br /> ORONO PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING <br /> Monday,March 19, 2007 • <br /> 6:00 o'clock p.m. <br /> � <br /> (#07-3270 Milo Thompson,Continued) - <br /> Sweitzer pointed out the ramp and landscaping areas on the overhead. <br /> Thompson stated the property is well screened by a row of six foot arborvitae and has a large number of <br /> trees. Thompson stated the house is not out of character with the two adjacent houses. <br /> Kempf inquired whether anyone on the Planning Commission would be opposed to the side yard <br /> variance. <br /> It was the consensus of the Planning Commission that they would not be opposed to the side yard <br /> variance. � <br /> Kempf inquired what the total square footage of the lookout is. <br /> Thompson stated it is 13' x 20' and that a queen size bed would fill the room. <br /> Kroeger commented from the sheet side the house is well screened. <br /> Thompson stated one tree would need to be removed in order to construct the garage. • <br /> Sweitzer indicated the existing garage is not in good condition and should be torn down. Sweitzer <br /> stated another reason for the larger windows is to allow egress. <br /> Kempf inquired whether anyone on the Planning Commission is opposed to the entryway as proposed. <br /> It was the consensus of the Planning Commission that the enhyway is fine as proposed. . <br /> Kempf moved,Winer seconded,to recommend approval of Application#07-3270,Milo <br /> Thompson,3135 Casco Circle,granting of a lot width variance, a side yard setback variance, a <br /> variance to the half-story requirement,a hardcover variance, and the granting of a conditional <br /> use permit subject to the following conditions: (1)The one main access to the principal residence <br /> should be maintained; (2)The utilities for the guest apartment shall not be metered separated <br /> from the principal residence and the apartment shall not have a separate street address; (3)No <br /> rental of the guest apartment shall be permitted.
