r . . , <br /> MINUTES OF THE <br /> ORONO PLANIVING COMMISSION MEETING <br /> Monday,November 17,2008 <br /> 6:00 o'clock p.m. <br /> (08-3388 BOYER BUILDERS ON BEHALF OF MATTHEW AND AMY HERMAN,CONT.) <br /> Turner noted it would need to be located 10 feet off the property line. <br /> Schoenzeit amended his motion to allow for the shed to remain but to require it be relocated <br /> totally on the applicant's property,with the as-built survey updated. Schwingler seconded. VOTE: <br /> Ayes 5,Nays 1,Kempf Opposed. <br /> Kempf stated in the view the Planning Commission should follow the ordinances as much as possible. <br /> Bennett recommended the applicant consider incorporating the measurements of the rooms on their <br /> survey. <br /> PLANNING CONIlVIISSION COMMENTS <br /> 5. REPORT OF PLANNING COMMISSION REPRESENTATIVES ATTENDING <br /> COUNCIL MEETINGS OCTOBER 27,2008,AND NOVEMBER 10,2008 <br /> Kempf reported on the October 27,2008 City Council meeting,noting that the Council received an <br /> update from Three Rivers on the Dakota Trail and that the trails will be completed in the near future. In <br /> addition,there was some discussion regarding maintaining the trail over the winter months as well as a <br /> possible future connection to the Luce Line. <br /> The Jacobs Mill development was discussed as it relates to the new Highway 12 corridor and the <br /> dissatisfaction that the residents in that neighborhood have with the removal of a large number of trees. <br /> Further meetings are to be scheduled to discuss mitigation of the situation. <br /> A discussion was also had regarding the burial of utilities on Casco Point Road,with no formal decision <br /> being made by the Council on that item. <br /> Bennett reported on the November 10`"City Counoil meeting, and noted that the bowling center <br /> application was tabled to allow the applicant time to submit more detailed plans. Bennett stated in her <br /> view the Planning Commission should require applicants on future applications submit detailed <br /> information on their proposals before proceeding to the Council. Bennett stated the neighbors also <br /> expressed their concerns regarding the application. <br /> Kempf commented in his view the Planning Commission did give preriy specific direction to the <br /> applicant. <br /> Bennett indicated the Council wanted detailed plans on the lighting and also requested that either the <br /> owner or the owner's representative be present at the next meeting to confirm that the owner is agreeable <br /> to the requested improvements. <br /> Schwingler stated the applicant did not research his lighting options prior to the Council meeting and did <br /> not have professionally designed plans for the parking and interior of the building,which the Council <br /> indicated they would like to review prior to approving the application. <br /> PAGE 11 <br />
