� C�t� o� ORONO <br /> � Q� RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br /> � NO. 2799 <br /> � - • • <br /> RESOLIITION OF RECOGNITION <br /> OFFICER JAMSS CORNICR <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Orono is a municipal corporation organized <br /> and existing under the laws of the State of Minnesota; and <br /> WHEREAS , the City of Orono does take the opportunity to <br /> recognize its outstanding employees; and <br /> WHEREAS, Officer James Cornick is an officer of the Orono Police <br /> Department; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Orono Police Department is very concerned with drug <br /> and alcohol abuse; and � <br /> WHEREAS, education of our young people is one way of attacking <br /> the drug and alcohol problem; and <br /> WHEREAS, Officer James Cornick was trained by the Illinois State <br /> •Police in the Drug Abuse Resistance Education program; and <br /> WHEREAS , Officer James Cornick was further schooled in <br /> "CounterAct", a drug education program sponsored by the Hazelden <br /> Foundation; and � <br /> WHEREAS, Officer James Cornick completed the DARE program at <br /> Orono Schools teaching 175 fifth grade students with the cooperation of <br /> the teachers and staff of the Orono School system; and <br /> WHEREAS , Officer James Cornick demonstrated his patience, <br /> compassion, and skill in winning the support of his class of young <br /> people. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Orono City Council <br /> commend Officer James C.ornick , Orono' s D.A.R.E. officer , for his <br /> dedication to duty, his patience and compassion in performing the <br /> D.A.R.E. program. <br /> Adopted by the Orono City Council on the 14th of May, 1990. <br /> ATT T: <br /> � <br /> Jame R.
