ROLL'CALL <br />The Orono City Council met on the above -mend <br />James White, Council Members James Murphy, <br />Representing Staff were Finance Director Ron C <br />Strategy Mike Gaffron, Planner Evelyn Turner, <br />.Young. <br />Mayor White called the meeting to order at 7:00 <br />CONSENT AGENDA <br />Item Nos. 5, 8, and 9 were added to the Consent <br />Murphy moved, McMillan seconded, to <br />Ayes 5, Nays 0. <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br />2. VOTE: <br />SEPTEMBER 8, 2008 <br />minutes of the Orono City Council meeting of <br />4, Nays 0, Murphy Abstained. <br />Donna Smith, Gillespie Center, addressed the City Council regarding funding by the City of the <br />Gillespie Center. Smith indicated they are here to answer questions regarding the information submitted <br />by the Gillespie Center. Smith noted the long -range plan for the center does not include converting the <br />center to a community room that consists of swimming pools, weight rooms, and more, but would <br />primarily be a senior center that serves the needs of the citizens of the area.
