MINUTES OF THE <br />ORONO CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br />Monday, May 23, 2016 <br />7:00 o'clock p.m. <br />*8. 2016 ROAD MAINTENANCE (HUNTER AND TAMARACK <br />Printup moved, Levang seconded, to authorize the solicitation of bids for the Hunter and Tamarack <br />road projects. VOTE: Ayes 5, Nays 0. <br />9. SPRING HILL SANITARY SEWER EXTENSION <br />This item was removed from the agenda at the request of the applicant. <br />*10. WELL NO.4 DESIGN <br />Printup moved, Levang seconded, to authorize the solicitation of bids for the Municipal Well No. 4 <br />project. VOTE: Ayes 5, Nays 0. <br />PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTORICITY ENGINEER REPORT <br />Edwards reported on the following activities by the Public Works Department: <br />Completed pothole filling on Fox and Watertown <br />Performed culvert repair on the Old Crystal Bay Road tram <br />Completed right of way mowing <br />- Installed speed bumps <br />Hydrant flushing has been completed <br />Completed a number of utility locates <br />Routine maintenance at the different parks <br />Edwards reported he has been working with the Community Education Department who will be <br />sponsoring a junior golf program out at the Orono Golf Course. Edwards noted that program was active a <br />number of years ago, discontinued, and is now being reinstated. <br />Edwards stated Girl Scout Troop 16214 has planted a pollinator garden at Livingston Park and that the <br />Orono Thunder Soccer U13 and U4 teams came out to Lurton Park and Navarre Park and placed wood <br />chips on the trails. <br />PUBLIC SAFETY REPORT <br />*11. DISPOSAL OF FORFEITED VEHICLES <br />Printup moved, Levang seconded, to approve the disposal of a 2009 Cadillac Escalade, <br />VIN#1GYFK26259R100784, through the Auto Auction.
