MINUTES OF THE <br />ORONO CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br />Monday, March 24, 2008 <br />7:00 o'clock p.m. • <br />ZONING ADMINISTRATOR'S REPORT <br />*4. #08 -3298 875 WBW LLC, 875 WAYZATA BOULEVARD WEST — EXTEND FINAL <br />PLAT APPROVAL — RESOLUTION NO. 5739 <br />Murphy moved, Rahn seconded, to adopt RESOLUTION NO. 5739, a Resolution Granting a <br />One Year Extension of General Development Plan Approval and Final Plat Approval for the <br />Plat of Orono Villas Granted Per Resolution NO. 5676. VOTE: Ayes 5, Nays 0. <br />MAYOR/COUNCIL REPORT <br />McMillan reported she has been asked to sit on the LMCD Save the Lake Committee and that she will <br />be attending the meeting in April. McMillan indicated she has recommended that the LMCD update <br />their policy on spending. <br />Bremer indicated she appreciated the upcoming events memo that was distributed by staff member <br />Rachel Dodge recently and suggested the information be distributed to the general public. <br />Moorse noted the upcoming events would be included in the upcoming City newsletter and on the <br />City's web site. Moorse indicated Staff is looking at other options for disseminating that type of <br />information to the general public. <br />Murphy reported that Randy Gilbert is the new host of the cable TV news show in this area. • <br />White noted that the Gillipsie Center has an event that they will be hosting on April 100'. White <br />encouraged the Council to make plans to attend if at all possible. <br />CITY ENGINEER'S REPORT <br />Kellogg stated he has nothing to report. <br />White commended the Orono Public Works Department for their excellent service work on the City's <br />vehicles over the years. <br />CITY ADMINISTRATOR'S REPORT <br />*5. AUTHORIZATION TO ACCEPT 2008 DODGE CHARGER <br />Murphy moved, Rahn seconded, to approve the acceptance of one 2008 Dodge Charger from <br />Nelson Chrysler Dodge of Fergus Falls, Minnesota, for the invoice price of $21,949.00. VOTE: <br />Ayes 5, Nays 0. <br />*6. APPROVAL OF ARCHITECTURAL SERVICES <br />Murphy moved, Rahn seconded, to approve Phillip Johnson Architect for architectural services <br />pertaining to the expansion of the police department. Services and fees not to exceed 6.5 percent <br />of the construction costs. Proposal for architectural services attached. ($25,350 based on a • <br />construction cost of $390,000.00).
