Representing Staff were Planning Director Mike Gaffron,Planner Melanie Curtis, <br /> and Recorder Jackie Young. Mayor Barbara Peterson was present. ' <br /> Chair Rahn called the meeting to order at 6:03 p.m. � •, ��� <br /> CONSENT <br /> 1. #06-3181 ESKUCHE CREATIVE GROUP ON BEIiALF OF DEAN AND KELLY <br /> LEISCHOW,6:03—6:04 P.M. . ' <br /> Rahn opened the public hearing. • <br /> There were no public comments regarding this application. • <br /> Rahn closed the public hearing. <br /> Rahn moved,Bremer seconded,to recommend approval of Application#06-3181,Eskuche Creative <br /> Group on behalf of Dean and Kelly Leischow, 1200 Old Crystal Bay Road,granting of a conditional <br /> � use permit subject to the applicants executing a covenant stating the use will not be used for a <br /> home occupation,dwelling unit,or rented/leased. VOTE: Ayes 6,Nays 0. <br /> OLD BUSINESS <br /> 2. #OS-3139 MERRY BETH HOVEY ON BEHALF OF HILL SCHOOL OF MINNESOTA, <br /> 2180 NORTH SHORE DRIVE, CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT,6:04—6:42 P.M. <br /> Merry Beth Hovey,Hill School of Minnesota,was present. . <br /> Gaffron stated Hill School was before the Planning Commission last fall and they were granted approvals <br /> in December 2005. The applicant has since that time determined that an elevator would have to�be <br /> installed and are requesting some revisions to their prior approval. The applicant is now requesting an <br /> amendment to the variance and conditional use permit approvals granted in December 2005 in order to <br /> construct additions to the existing building. They are proposing to construct a revised addition�"with a <br /> second story on the rear of their existing building to accommodate office space, classroom space, and an <br /> additional bathroom. The use is conditionally permitted,requiring the City to amend the existing <br /> conditional use permit when a change is proposed. Secondly,the existing building does not meet the <br /> required 50-foot side street setback or the 50-foot side yard setback,where the addition as proposed will <br /> maintain the existing nonconfornung setbacks,requiring variances. The elevator bump-out addition will <br /> be approximately 21 feet from the west lot line. <br /> PAGE 1 <br />
