MINUTES OF THE <br /> • ' ORONO PLANNING COMIVIISSION MEETING <br /> � , Monday,Apri116,2007 <br /> 6:00 o'clock p.m. <br /> (#07-3283 Steven and Sheila Sigel,Continued) <br /> Chair Kempf opened the public hearing at 10:43 p.m. <br /> There were no public comments regarding this application. � <br /> Chair Kempf closed the public hearing at 10:43 p.m. <br /> Kempf stated he'does not have any real issues with this application but suggested that a width for the <br /> sidewalk be established. <br /> Sigel stated he is proposing a four-foot walkway. � <br /> Kempf noted pexvious pavers are still counted as hardcover. . <br /> Berg moved to recommend approval of Application#07-3283,Steven and Sheila Sige1, 1399 Park <br /> Drive,granting of an average lakeshore setback variance,hardcover variances within the 75-250 <br /> � and 250-500 setback zones, and a conditional use permit for retaining walls and grading in order <br /> to'construct an addition to the existing home and rebuild an extensive retaining wall system, <br /> subject to Staff s recommendations. ' <br /> . Kempf inquired whether pervious pavers should be required. <br /> , Berg stated she does not feel they should be requiring the applicant to utilize pervious pavers. <br /> Rice seconded. VOTE: Ayes 5,Nays 1,Kempf opposed. <br /> Kempf stated he voted in opposition to the motion because he would have required pervious pavers to <br /> be utilized. <br /> Sigel stated he would be happy to speak with his landscape architect about the pervious pavers but that <br /> he has to be careful about installing something that would absorb liquid because in the wintertime it <br /> would be incredibly slippery. . <br /> 12. #07-3284 MICHAEL SHARRATT OF SHARRATT DESIGN ON BEHALF OF TOM <br /> AND KRISTEN RITCHIE,2507 KELLY AVENUE, 10:48—11:21 P.M. <br /> � Michael Sharratt and Tom Ritchie,Applicant,were present. <br /> Curtis stated the applicants are requesting hardcover variances in order to install an 18' x 36' in-ground <br /> pool with patio. They are requestimg a variance for 29.8 percent hardcover where 30 percent currently <br /> exists and 25 percent was approved with the construction of the home in 2001. <br /> , , PAGE 33 <br />
