MINUTES OF THE <br /> ORONO PLANNIlVG COMMISSION ' <br /> Monday,September 18, 2006 <br /> G:00 o'clock p.m. <br /> � <br /> (#06-3233 St.Edward Churcli, Continued) • <br /> Jurgens moved to recommeud approval of Application#06-3233,Episcop�l Diocese,St.Edwnrd <br /> Churcl�,865 Ferndale Road North, granting of a conditional use perinit subject to the <br /> recommendations of the City Engineer and tl►e wetlancl consultant. • <br /> Curtis stated the applicant would need a variance to place a sign in excess of 12 feet. <br /> Jurgens inquired whether the�roposed monument sign other than height meefs all of the City's sign <br /> requirements. . <br /> Curtis stated they require a variance because of the zoning district the church is located in. <br /> Jurgens stated his motion would also include a reconimendation of denial of the additional six <br /> inches for the monument sign but would recommend approval of the sign variance. <br /> Kempf seconded. VOTE: Ayes 3,Nays 2,Bremer and Ral�n opposed. <br /> PLANNING COMIVIISSION COMMENTS . " . <br /> 10. REPORT OF PLANNING COIVIlVIISSION REPRESENTATIVES ATTENDING <br /> COUNCIL MEETING AUGUST 28 AND SEPTEMBER 11,2006 <br /> Rahn reported on the August 28 meeting,noting fhat a large number of applications were placed on the <br /> Consent Agenda. Rahn stated the Council approved the 17-foot road for the Spring Hill Road <br /> application. <br /> Kroeger stated the Jule Hannaford a�plication was approved. <br /> Bremer reported on the September 11 Council meeting,noting that a nuinber of the applications were <br /> placed on the Consent Agenda. Bremer stated the Anderson application was approved with the <br /> requirement that the deck be reduced to 18 feet. <br /> The Planning Commission discussed the Hempel application. ` <br /> Gaffron stated Troy Broitzman has sent an e-mail to the City indicatii�g that he has a potential buyer for <br /> the pro�erty who would like to construct a snlaller sized house on tlie lot. ' <br /> 11. OTHER ISSUES FOR DISCUSSION <br /> Gaffion reconunended a work session be scheduled for the begimiing of October. <br /> Bremer scheduled a work session for OctoUer 4`�'at 5:30 p.ni. <br /> � PAGE 2G <br />
