• <br />MINUTES OF THE <br />ORONO CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br />Monday, January 26, 2009 <br />7:00 o'clock p.m. <br />(6. #08 -3381 BARRY TANNER, 3435 SHORELINE DRIVE, Continued) <br />Tanner stated they would take as much care as possible to limit the noise that would be created by taking <br />the garbage out and attempt to do it at a reasonable time of day. <br />McMillan asked whether the HVAC system is acceptable to prevent the doors from being propped open. <br />Tanner indicated it is his understanding that the HVAC system was replaced a few years ago and should <br />be adequate for their needs. - Tanner illustrated photographs of the interior of the bowling center. <br />Tanner stated they are planning to redo the front bar area and update the bathrooms but that they are not <br />planning to do any other major improvements. <br />White stated the council could approve a conditional use permit. White requested the applicant provide a <br />list of items that would be improved. <br />Bremer moved, McMillan seconded, to adopt RESOLUTION NO. 5803, with Item 7C being <br />amended to read that the parking area shall be illuminated during the hours the bowling alley is <br />open during the evening hours but that the lighting should be shut off one hour after the bowling <br />center is closed and that the lighting shall be according to a plan that demonstrates it will create no <br />more than zero foot candles of direct lighting at the south property line. The lighting plan will be <br />subject to Council review and approval. VOTE: Ayes 5, Nays 0. <br />• *7. #09 -3389 JOHN AND LYNN YOUNG, 4355 CHIPPEWA LANE — VARIANCE — <br />RESOLUTION NO. 5804 <br />Bremer moved, Franchot seconded, to adopt RESOLUTION NO. 5804, a Resolution Granting <br />Variances to Municipal Zoning Code Section 78 -1435 for the property located at 4355 Chippewa <br />Lane. VOTE: Ayes 5, Nays 0. <br />*8. #09 -3390 MICHAEL JONES ON BEHALF OF GLEN NEDDERMEYER; 3186 NORTH <br />SHORE DRIVE — VARIANCES — RESOLUTION NO. 5805 <br />Bremer moved, Franchot seconded, to adopt RESOLUTION NO. 5805, a Resolution Granting <br />Variances to the Orono, Minnesota, City Code Sections 78 -330 and 78 -1288 for the property located <br />at 3186 North Shore Drive. VOTE: Ayes 5, Nays 0. <br />9. #09 -3393 BRIAN WINGES /COMFORTS OF HOME, 875 WAYZATA BOULEVARD <br />WEST — COMPREHENSIVE PLAN AMENDMENT <br />Brian Winges, Applicant, was present. <br />Gaffron stated Comforts of Home is requesting an amendment to the Orono Community Management <br />Plan to allow development of this site at an Urban Residential density of approximately seven units per <br />• acre, to accommodate a 46 -unit assisted living and memory care residence facility.
