MINUTES OF THE <br />ORONO CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br />Monday, January 26, 2009 <br />7:00 o'clock p.m. • <br />(17 AMENDMENT TO POLICE SERGEANT LABOR AGREEMENT FOR 2009, Continued) <br />Franchot stated that point of view tends to be self - fulfilling since all cities increase their fees and that at <br />some point in the city's discussion they should look at their expectations for staff and compensation. <br />Murphy moved, McMillan seconded, to approve the "Memorandum of Understanding Between the <br />City of Orono and Law Enforcement Labor Services (Local No. 168) — Supervisors" amending the <br />insurance contribution to $790.00 for 2909. VOTE: Ayes 5, Nays 0. <br />18. AMENDMENT TO PATROL OFFICER LABOR AGREEMENT FOR 2009 <br />Murphy moved, McMillan seconded, to approve the "Memorandum of Understanding Between the <br />City of Orono and Law Enforcement Labor Services (Local No. 40) — Patrol" amending the <br />insurance contribution to $790.00 for 2009. VOTE: Ayes 5, Nays 0. <br />19. 2009 NON -UNION COMPENSATION ADJUSTMENTS — RESOLUTION NO. 5818 <br />Murphy moved, McMillan seconded, to adopt RESOLUTION NO. 5818, a Resolution Amending <br />Resolution No. 5793 Pay Plan Adjustments for Non -Union City Employees for 2009. VOTE: Ayes <br />5, Nays 0. <br />CITY ATTORNEY'S REPORT <br />- Mattick recommended the City hold hearings on whether the Casco Point street utility construction <br />project is viable. Mattick noted the City will not be seeking special assessments on this project and that . <br />they need to hold public hearings in the near future. <br />Murphy asked whether Mattick is separating the utility rehab portion of the project from the burying of <br />the utilities. <br />Mattick stated he is. <br />*20.
