MINUTES OF THE <br />ORONO CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br />Monday, October 11, 2004 <br />7:00 o'clock p.m. <br />*18. REQUEST AUTHORIZATION TO IMPLEMENT SAFE AND SOBER PROGRAM — <br />RESOLUTION NO. 5235 <br />Sansevere moved, McMillan seconded, to approve participation in the Safe and Sober Program by <br />the Orono Police Department. VOTE: Ayes 4, Nays 0 <br />Sansevere moved, McMillan seconded, to approve RESOLUTION NO. 5235, a Resolution <br />Authorizing Execution of Agreement with the Minnesota Department of Public Safety. VOTE: <br />Ayes 4, Nays 0 <br />CITY ATTORNEY'S REPORT <br />Barrett indicated he has nothing to report. <br />Murphy inquired whether there is any news regarding the Demuth matter. <br />Barrett stated the matter is still being handled administratively and that the initial offer has not been <br />accepted by the city. Barrett indicated it is his understanding the City Administrator will continue to <br />handle this matter. <br />Murphy stated he has reviewed the plans of the City's forester and has spoken with Ron Moorse and <br />Clark Jenney concerning this matter. Murphy stated it is his understanding Mr. Demuth has been visited <br />by both mayoral candidates for Long Lake and that Demuth has indicated he would like to get the issue <br />resolved as quickly as possible. • <br />Barrett stated the City is attempting to get a handle on the situation. <br />*19. LICENSES <br />None <br />*20. BILLS <br />Sansevere moved, McMillan seconded, to approve payment of the All Funds Account. <br />VOTE: Ayes 4, Nays 0 <br />ADJOURNMENT <br />Murphy moved, Sansevere seconded, to adjourn the Orono City Council meeting of <br />October 11, 2004, at 9:09 p.m. VOTE: Ayes 4, Nays 0 <br />ATTEST: <br />Linda S.
