The tiered retaining wall along the north side of the driveway is shown at the maximum 4' height but does not
have the required 2x height separation to the next retaining wall. Therefore it will need to be signed by a
registered professional engineer.
2. While it is not required, I would strongly recommend providing some separation between the end of the
driveway and the beginning of the retaining wall. This will allow for a vegetative bench which will make it easier
to get in and out of a vehicle.
3. The architectural drawings and the survey do not match. The architectural drawings show multiple retaining
walls on the left and right side of the house, while the survey only shows one on each side. These drawings
need to match.
Jesse Struve, PE
Director of Public Works/City Engineer
City of Orono
(952) 249-4661 - Direct
(952) 249-4616- Fax
www.ci.orono.mn.us
1
1
