ORONO CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br />MONDAY, DECEMBER 8, 2003 <br />22. BCA Furniture Donation • <br />Mayor Peterson stated that Chief Stephanie Good went to the BCA and requested excess <br />office furniture items for donation to the City. <br />McMillan moved, and Mayor Peterson seconded, to accept the donation by the BCA <br />and distribute items as requested. <br />Vote: Ayes 5, Nays 0. <br />McMillan moved, and White seconded, to dispose of worthless items as proposed. <br />Vote: Ayes 5, Nays 0. <br />Item 16 was removed from the Consent Agenda and opened for discussion. <br />16. City's Fee Schedule for 2004 and Summary Ordinance for publication <br />McMillan asked about the drastic jump in the variance fee. She was uncomfortable with <br />going to $600. <br />Murphy stated he felt $600 was appropriate. <br />Sansevere asked if the jump should be based on a certain percentage for each fee. • <br />Gaffron stated that the fee was about covering the cost of staff time. He stated there was <br />never a reason for the difference in fees between the variance and the CUP fee. $600 was <br />an appropriate fee for the applications based on staff time. <br />Sansevere moved, and Mayor Peterson seconded, to adopt Ordinance No. 5, Third <br />Series adopting the City's Fee Schedule for 2004 and Summary Ordinance for <br />publication. <br />Vote: Ayes 5, Nays 0. <br />*23. Contract Payment to County Assessor <br />Sansevere moved, and White seconded, to approve the first half payment for the <br />2004 assessment to the County Assessor in the amount of $55,000. <br />Vote: Ayes 5, Nays 0. <br />23a. Moorse suggested Council pass a resolution in support of the Dakota Rail trail. <br />Murphy moved, and Mayor Peterson seconded, that staff draft and send Resolution <br />No. 5098 in support of the Dakota Rail line being used as a trail, and not as a <br />railroad. <br />Vote: Ayes 5, Nays 0. <br />40 <br />W.-I <br />
