Access to data by indi�ldual. Upon request to a r:s�oasible aef.^.oriry,an individual shall be informed whether he is the subject <br /> of s�ored data on individuals, and wherher it is classified as public,privac�or confid:nBal. Upon his funher requesc, an individual who is the subject <br /> of s�orzd private or public data on individuals shall be shown che data w•i�.ouc any ci�rge to him and,�if he dzsires, shall be informed of the contenc <br /> and meaning of that data. After an individual has been shown�he privaw�ac�and i�:ormed of ics meaning, che data need not be disclosed to him for <br /> six mon�hs ehereatcer unless a dispute or acaon pursuan�to [his secdon is cending or addiaonal data on the individual has been collecced or creaced. <br /> The responsible au�horiry shall provide copies of the privare or public da�a a�on reques:by the individual subjecc oF�he data. The responsible authoriry <br /> may requir� [he requesring person to pay the acmal costs of maicine,cer.::;ing, and compIling the copies. <br /> The responsible authoriry shall cornply immediaczty, if possib!=,wich any r=quest made punuant to this subdivision, or wirhin five days of <br /> the date of the request,e�ctuding Sacurdays,Sundays and legal holidays,ii ir..media�e compliance is not possible. If he cannot comply with the requesc <br /> wirhin�hac rime,he shall so inform the individual,and may have an addicor.al five days wichin which to comply with the request,excluding Saturdays, <br /> Sundays and legal holidays. <br /> Subd.4. Procedure when data is not accurate or complete. �i individual may contest the accuracy or completeness of public or pri�•ate <br /> dara concerning himself. To exercise�his rieh�,an individual shall nod"ry ia wridng c-:�responsible authoriry dzscribing�he nacure of the disagreemenc. <br /> The responsible au�horiry shall wichin 30 days either: (a)correct the dac�icund to te inaccurate or incomptece and aRempc to nodfy past recipien�s of <br /> inaccurate or incomplete data, inctuding recipiencs named by the individL�l;or(b) codfy the individual that he believes the data to be correct.
