On the videotape, the Mound Police Chief asked the City
of Mound to participate in the multi - agency grant with the Orono, Corcoran, and Medina Police
Departments, pointing out that Mound is currently the only City that doesn't take advantage of the
great opportunity offered by participation in the `Safe and Sober' system in the metro area. He
explained that the OPD would act as administrator of the funds for this unconditional grant to
enforce DWI's, speeding, and seat belt issues, which could mean in excess of 200 over time hours, or
$8,000, to the City of Mound.
Mound City Council members failed to second a motion to accept the opportunity to partner with the
three other communities and receive the `Safe and Sober' grant money as presented.,The Council .
