" �.�. <br /> ;. _:•, . •,, <br /> A RESOI�IITION GRANTING <br /> A CONDITIONAL DSE PERMIT <br /> PER MIJNICIPAL ZONING CODE <br /> SECTION 10.03, SIIBDIVISION 19 <br /> FILE #1393 <br /> WHEREAS, Washington Scientific Inc. (hereinafter "the <br /> applicant") is the owner ef the property located at 2605 Wayzata Boulevard <br /> within the City of Orono (hereinafter "City") and legally described in <br /> Exhibit A, attached to this resolution (hereinafter "property") ; and <br /> WHEREAS, the applicant has applied to� the City of Orono for a <br /> Conditional Use Permit per Municipal Zoning Code Section 10. 03 , <br /> Subdivision 19, to permit thin spreading of approximately 800 cubic yards <br /> of soils contaminated with organic solvent, to be spread over approximately <br /> a 2 acre area within the property. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of Orono, <br /> �i.nnesota: � <br /> FINDINGS <br /> 1. This applicatien was reviewed as Zoning File #1393. <br /> 2. The property is located �in the Industrial Zoning District. <br /> 3. On Apri1 17, 1989, the Orono Planning Commissien reviewed the <br /> application as proposed and recommended approval based on the <br /> following findings: <br /> A) The remedial treatment plan as proposed by applicants' <br /> Consultant will prevent further hazard to the health, safety and <br /> welfare of the public who reside in the Long Lake Watershed. <br /> B) The aeration treatment for the organic solvent contaminate <br /> provided by the thin spread process will satisfy a11 pertinent <br /> standards of the MPCA. <br /> 4. The City Council has considered this applicatien including the <br /> findings and recommendations of the Planning Commission, reports by <br /> staff and comments of the applicant and the affect of the proposed use <br /> on the health, safety, and welfare of the community. <br /> • Page 1 of 4 <br />
