I spoke with and communicated by letter with your
brother David. He informed me of your father's health issues and then his death. I am sorry for your
loss. The last time David and I spoke he said the property was going through probate and requested
more time to deal with the issue. The city has received further complaints about the buildings and now
- must require you to take action. The following is a list of options.
1- You could obtain a building permit to repair the structures.
2- You could obtain a building permit to replace the structures in kind.
3- You could enter into an agreement with the city to have the structures removed. The cost would
then be assessed to your taxes in five (5) equal installments at 8% interest per annum.
4- You could obtain a demolition permit and remove the structures yourself.
5- You could do nothing and the city will proceed with a hazardous building action and obtain a
court order to remove the structures. The cost would then be assessed to your taxes all at one
time.
Please contact me before April 7, 2014 to discuss your intentions. I can be reached at 952-249-4625. If
the city does not hear from you by then the city will initiate a hazardous building action and obtain a
court order to remove the buildings.
Sincerely,
CITY OF ORONO

Lyle Oman
Building Official
c US Mail
