Code Amendments: Conservation Design <br /> Attached is Draft #2 (11/16/OS) of the proposed zoning and subdivision ordinance <br /> amendments for implementing the Conservation Design principles established within the <br /> Orono Rlual Oasis comp plan amendment. This draft has been transmitted to DSU, Inc. <br /> for review, whose conunents have yet to be received. The structure of the proposed <br /> ordinance coines directly from DSU's suggested ordinance outline received last March. <br /> Planning Coi�mlission reviewed the first draft of this ordinance at the November 2 wark <br /> session and offered a number of suggested revisions which have been incoiporated into <br /> Draft#2. These include: <br /> - 78-1632 and 82-300: Applicability limited to residential subdivisions and <br /> residential multi-unit developments <br /> - 78-1633: Definitions of"Landmark Preservation and Enhancement" and <br /> "Ecological Quality levels"have been fleshed out. <br /> - 78-1634(4): Tree survey inclusions have been specified. <br /> - 78-1635: Added language requiring inaster plan inaps be submitted in acceptable <br /> electronic format. <br /> - 78-1636: Removed specific bonus awards from text, leaving the extent of bonus <br /> entirely to Council discretion. <br /> There are still a few holes or unresolved teat entries that will require input from DSU. <br /> Staff Recommendation <br /> This has been published for a public hearing. Plamiing Commission should hold the <br /> hearing, take public comments, and review the draft ordinauce with consideration to any <br /> additional warranted changes or revisions.
