There shall be no more than four temporary business signs issued per calendar year,and for a period of not more than ten days per <br /> time or of Uie duration of[he event promoted by the sign message,whichever is less.The sign(inciuding banners or balloons),sign supports or <br /> portable stand shall be removed from public view at the end of dle period.Total area of the sign shall not exceed 32 square feet per surface(64 <br /> square feet total signage allowed for two-sided portable sign).Advertising balloons are not subject to area restriclions but must meet all <br /> applicable federal and state standards. <br /> b. There shall be no more U�an one temporary sign in any required yard area,and, if separate muitiple signs are proposed,the total area <br /> of the signs sltall not exceed 32 square feeL Temporary business signs require a building permit from Uie city.No such permit shall be issued by <br /> the city if a conditional use permit under section 78-1467(I)c has been issued to a residential property.No temporary sign shall be allowed in <br /> residential zones unless permitted as election or sale signs under this section.Multitenant buildings shall be considered as a single property for <br /> purposes of subsection(8)of this section;and the use of thc single temporary business sign by tenants on the property shall be the responsibility <br /> of the property owner or designated tnanager,who shall endorse in writin�all applica[ions for sign permits. <br /> a The owner or manager of[he sign and the owner of the property sh111 be equally responsible for the proper location,maintenance and <br /> removal of the sign.All temporary signs shall be located on a property so that chey do not impede safery by obstructing vision of pedestrians or <br /> motor vehicle operators. <br /> Sec.78-1468.Signs in B and I districts. <br /> Within the B and I districts,nameplate signs and business signs are permitted subject to the following regulations: <br /> (1) B-1,B-2 and B-4 size.Within d�e B-1,B-2 and B-4 districts,the aggregate square footage of sign space per lot shall not <br /> exceed the sum of one square foot for each front foot of b�olding,plus one square foot for each front foot of bt not occupied by a building.No <br /> individual sign shall exceed 50 square feet. <br /> (2) B-3:size.Within the B-3 district,the aggregate square Yootage of sign space per lot shall not exceed the sum of four square <br /> feet per front foot of building,plus one square foot per front foot of property not occupied by a building.No individual sign surface shall exceed <br /> 100 square feet. <br /> (3) C size.W ithin any I district,the aggregate square footage of sign space per lot shall not exceed the sum of four square feet <br /> per front foot of building,plus one square foot per front foot ofproperty no[occupied by a building.No individual sign surface shali exceed 100 <br /> square feet. <br /> (4) B-1,B-2 and B-4:height.Within the B-1,B-2 and B-4 districts,no sign shall extend in height more dian two fee[above the <br /> highest oucside wall or parapet of any principal building,nor shall any sign be located closer than ten feet from any property line;except that any <br /> sign over ten square feet may project two feet into any required yard area from the principal building. <br /> (5) B-3 and I:height.W ithin any B-3 or[district,no sign shall extend in height more than six feet in height above the highes[ <br /> outside wall or parapet of any principal building.No sign shall be located closer than ten feet from any property line,excep[that a��y sign <br /> exceeding ten square feet may project only two feet into the yard area from any building. <br /> (Code 1984,§ 10.61(3)) <br /> Please Note: This is only an application for a permit. Do not erect the sign until you have received the <br /> permit. A double fee will be charged for any sign erected prior to obtaining a permit.
