0 <br />MINUTES OF THE <br />ORONO CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br />Monday, July 22, 2002 <br />6:30 o'clock p.m. <br />08) #02 -2793 REVIS STEPHENSON,1850 FOX RIDGE ROAD - AFTER - THE -FACT <br />CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT AND VARIANCES - Continued <br />applicant another shot at making it work. Murphy indicated that he would prefer not to make the <br />applicant remove it all. <br />Galatz stated that he would appreciate reviewing the landscape plan. <br />Sansevere repeated that the Council is striving to be sensitive to the neighbor's concern. <br />Gappa noted that the 60 day deadline would be August 9, 2002. <br />Weinberger stated that an extension would be needed. <br />Murphy moved, Sansevere seconded, to table Application #02 -2793, Revis Stephenson, <br />1850 Fox Ridge Road, at the request of the applicant pending a landscape design to be <br />reviewed by staff and neighbors. <br />Sansevere suggested Mr. Stephenson make a point of talking to his neighbor, Mr. Chalfen, about <br />the design. <br />Peterson stated that he anticipated the issue would be tabled, and stated that he would work with <br />the applicant on a design. <br />Although everyone is aware that the project got carried away, Murphy suggested Mr. Stephenson <br />do anything he can about it and include lots of green, trees, plants, etc. <br />Galatz stated that, in his opinion, the wetland variance issue was separate from the hill. <br />Stephenson indicated that he was willing to do what he could. <br />VOTE: Ayes 3, Nays 0. <br />( #9) #02 -2796 MARK AND GINA KOSEK,1875 SHADYWOOD ROAD - VARIANCE - <br />RESOLUTION NO. 4835 <br />Ms. Kosek stated that she and her husband have one issue with the proposed resolution. The rock <br />wall surrounds a red maple tree and the applicant was concerned about the tree, tree roots and <br />erosion as a result of removing the rocks. The portion that loops around the tree constitutes <br />approximately 20 s.f. Engineer Kellogg stated that he visited the site and also had concern about <br />the tree, but felt with topsoil and additional grading the tree could be fine. On the other hand, <br />Kellogg suggested Council could allow the 7 -foot boulder wall to remain. <br />PAGE 27 of 35 <br />
