'ORONO CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br />Tuesday, May 28, 2002 • <br />(RECOGNITION, RICHARD FLINT, Continued) <br />The Mayor read the resolution and awarded Flint a plaque acknowledging his service to Orono. <br />Flint thanked staff and Council Members for the great opportunity to serve the community. <br />Drew McDermott, of the Park Commission, added that he and the other commissioners will sorely <br />miss the support Flint has provided the Commission over the years. <br />Sansevere moved, Murphy seconded, to adopt Resolution No. 4816 in appreciation to Richard <br />Flint for distinguished service as City Council Member. Vote: Ayes 5, Nays 0. <br />3. Accept Donation to Park Fund <br />Murphy moved, White seconded, to accept the Park Fund donation given by Mr. Flint. Vote: <br />Ayes 5, Nays 0. <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br />* 4. Regular Council Meeting of May 13, 2002 <br />Sansevere moved, Nygard seconded, to approve the Minutes of the Regular Council Meeting • <br />of May 13, 2002. Vote: 4/0/1, with Mayor Peterson abstaining. <br />* 5. Reconvened Board of Appeal and Equalization Meeting of May 13, 2002 <br />Murphy moved, Nygard seconded, to approve the Minutes of the Board of Appeal and <br />Equalization Meeting of May 13, 2002. Vote: 4/0/1, Mayor Paterson abstaining. <br />PARK COMMISSION COMMENTS - RICK MEYERS, REPRESENTATIVE <br />Meyers stated that he had nothing new to report, however, is looking forward to the upcoming park <br />tours. <br />Meyers took a moment to thank Flint for his vision and persistence over the years. He thanked <br />Flint for his strong philosophy and belief that trails build community, and his perseverance to see <br />the process through. <br />In reference to access points, Meyers reiterated the need to examine the list of access points and set <br />parameters with adjacent property owners from the get go. He added that the adjacent property <br />owner to 3165 Casco Circle has been dumping their construction debris on the park/City property. <br />Moorse stated that he will be taking a closer look at the access points list in June with Director of <br />Public Services, Greg Gappa. • <br />Page 2 of 16 <br />
