City of ORONO <br />RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br />NO. <br />2566 <br />A RESOLUTION ADOPTING THE ASSESSMENT ROLL <br />FOR HAZARDOUS BUILDING ACTIONS — 1988-2 <br />WHEREAS, pursuant. to proper legal notice given as <br />required by law, the City Council has on January 9, 1989, held a <br />public hearing on the proposed assessment of costs incurred in <br />removal of hazardous buildings located on properties as named and <br />described on the attached assessment roll; and <br />WHEREAS, Hennepin County District Court has on October <br />5, 1988 approved and ordered collection of the amounts described <br />on the attached assessment roll as reimbursement to the City for <br />expenses incurred in 'these hazardous building proceedings. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of <br />the City of Orono, Hennepin County, Minnesota: <br />1. The Assessment Roll is hereby accepted and shall constitute <br />the special assessment against each tract of land as named and <br />attached hereto. <br />2. Such assessment shall be payable in one installment and shall <br />bear interest at the rate of 8 percent per annum from January 9, <br />1989. <br />3. The owner of any property so assessed may pay the entire <br />amount of the assessment as follows: <br />a.) If the assessment is paid within 30 days (through <br />February 19, 1989) after the Council adopts the <br />assessment there is no interest added; <br />b.) If the assessment is paid after February 10, 1989 <br />but before any certification to the County Auditor <br />(which 'certification can occur at any time after this <br />resolution is passed but no later than October 10., 1989) <br />accrued interest is added through the date of payment; <br />c.) If the assessment is paid after certification to the <br />County Auditor, through November 15,1989, interest must <br />be paid as accrued through December 31, 1989; <br />d.) If the ;assessment remains unpaid as of November 15, <br />1989 the City cannot accept payment and the assessment <br />plus interest through December 31, 1990 will be <br />• collected by the County Auditor. <br />
