C� <br />City of ORONO <br />RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br />NO. 2552 <br />A RESOLUTION GRANTING <br />VARIANCES TO <br />MUNICIPAL ZONING CODE <br />SECTION 10.22, SUBDIVISION 1, <br />SECTION 10.23, SUBDIVISION 6 (B), AND <br />SECTION 10.22, SUBDIVISION 2 <br />FILE 11350 <br />WHEREAS, Lauren and Joyce Born (hereinafter "the applicants") are <br />the owners of the property located at 1420 Shoreline Drive within the City <br />of Orono (hereinafter "City") and legally described as follows: <br />See Exhibit A attached, (hereinafter "the property"); and <br />WHEREAS,, the applicants have applied to the City for variances to <br />the Municipal Zoning Code to permit the construction of an addition to the <br />existing residence requiring a side setback variance at a 2418" setback <br />•where 30' is required [Section 10.23, Subdivision 6 (B)], a lakeshore <br />setback variance at 17' where a 75' setback is required [Section 10.22, <br />Subdivision 11, and a hardcover variance for new construction within the 0- <br />75' setback area resulting in 1,973 s.f. or 21% of hardcover where 2,563 <br />s.f. or 27% hardcover exists and where none is allowed [Section 10.22, <br />Subdivision 21. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of Orono, <br />Minnesota: <br />FINDINGS <br />1. This application was reviewed as Zoning File #1350. <br />2. The property is located in the LR-lA Single Family Lakeshore <br />Residential Zoning District requiring 2 acres of area. <br />3. The property consists of 13,196 s.f. or .3 acres. <br />4. The Orono Planning Commission reviewed the variance application on <br />November 21, 1988, and recommended approval of the proposed variances <br />based upon the following findings: <br />A) The applicants have acquired additional area adjacent to their <br />property in order to enlarge their severely limited property. <br />0 <br />Page 1 of 4 <br />
