MINUTES OF THE <br /> ORONO PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING <br /> Monday,November 15,2004 <br /> 6:00 o'clock p.m. <br /> ROLL <br /> The Orono Planning Commission met on the above-mentioned date with the following members present: <br /> Chair David Rahn, Commissioners J.Marc Fritzler, Jim Leslie,Ralph Kempf, Roland Jurgens, Cynthia <br /> Bremer, and Travis Winkey. Representing Staff were Planning Director Mike Gaffron,Planners Melanie <br /> Curtis and Janice Gundlach, and Recorder Jackie Young. <br /> Chair Rahn called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. <br /> CONSENT <br /> Item No. 1 was removed from the Consent Agenda. <br /> 1. #04-3069 G&L LAND INVESTMENTS,LLC, 2665 MAPLERIDGE LANE— <br /> VARIANCE,6:01 p.m.—6:02 p.m. <br /> The applicants were not present. <br /> Rahn asked for public comments. <br /> There were no public comments concerning this application. <br /> Due to the absence of the applicants,this item was held open and follows Items#2 and#6. <br /> OLD BUSINESS <br /> 2. #04-3052 ERIC VOGSTROM,2618 CASCO POINT ROAD—VARIANCES, <br /> 6:02—6:20 p.m. <br /> Eric Vogstrom, Applicant was present. <br /> Curtis noted this application was recommended for denial at the October Planning Commission <br /> meeting.Since that time the applicant has proposed reductions and this matter has been referred back to <br /> the Planning Commission by the City Council. The revised plan consists of a hardcover variance within <br /> the 75'-250' zone of 36.8 percent hardcover and an average lakeshore setback to encroach 5' nearer the <br /> lake than the property to the south. <br /> Curtis stated the applicant has submitted a tree and vegetation restoration plan for the property,with Staff <br /> currently reviewing that plan. Staff recommends approval of the average lakeshore setback variance, and <br /> PAGE 1 <br />
