MINUTES OF THE <br /> ORONO PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING <br /> Monday,July 18,2005 <br /> 6:00 o'clock p.m. <br /> (#05-3138 Dan Larkin, Continued) <br /> Rahn inquired whether the dormer depicted in the proposal would be living space. <br /> Larkin stated that would be living space. <br /> Rahn inquired whether there are any setback variances being requested. <br /> Curtis stated they are requesting a 10-foot lake setback variance. <br /> Winkey stated aside from the retaining walls and the brick walk,there does not appear to be any other <br /> hardcover that could be removed. Winkey noted the overall structural coverage is being reduced on this <br /> lot with the new proposal. <br /> Jurgens inquired whether all of the decks have been approved. <br /> Curtis stated the decks have not changed and were reviewed as part of a different application in 2003. <br /> Jurgens inquired whether the decks were approved in 2003. <br /> Gaffron stated the decks were the subject of a variance application a number of years ago. <br /> Bremer moved,Winkey seconded,to recommend approval of Application#05-3138,Dan Larkin of <br /> DBH Larkin Construction on behalf of Sandra Benson, 1376 Baldur Park Road,granting of <br /> hardcover variances in the 0-75' zone and 75'-250',a lake setback variance,and a structural <br /> coverage variance in order to remove an existing detached garage and construct an attached garage <br /> to the existing home,with the condition that the brick walk and decorative stones be removed. <br /> VOTE: Ayes 6,Nays 1,Jurgens Opposed. <br /> Jurgens stated he does not feel there has been a complete submittal of the hardcover on this property. <br /> PLANNING COMMISSION COMMENTS <br /> 17. REPORT OF PLANNING COMMISSION REPRESENTATIVES ATTENDING <br /> COUNCIL MEETINGS JUNE 27 AND JULY 11,2005 <br /> Jurgens gave a brief update on the June 27th Council meeting. Jurgens stated the Palm application was <br /> approved subject to review of the drainage and grading plan by the city engineer. Jurgens stated Valerius <br /> was directed by the Council to eliminate the exterior stairway and construct an interior stairway. <br /> Leslie gave a brief update on the July 11th Council meeting and noted there was some discussion <br /> regarding the development of a comprehensive plan for Navarre. <br /> PAGE 32 <br />
