MINUTES OF THE <br /> • <br /> ORONO PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING <br /> Monday,July 18,2005 <br /> 6:00 o'clock p.m. <br /> (#05-3134 David Park,Continued) <br /> Jurgens suggested the applicant speak with Staff to determine the minimum driveway that would be <br /> allowed for this property. <br /> Leslie stated it would be difficult to give the applicant a specific amount of hardcover that should be <br /> removed without designing the driveway. <br /> Crosby inquired whether he could simply reduce the width of the driveway. <br /> Bremer suggested the applicant do the calculations on how much hardcover would remain if the width is <br /> reduced and also hardcover calculations if one side of the horseshoe is eliminated. <br /> Leslie stated he would like to see hardcover calculations for both types of driveways. <br /> Bremer indicated she is basically looking for a net reduction in hardcover. <br /> Curtis stated one 20-foot curb cut is normally allowed. <br /> Jurgens moved,Fritzler seconded,to table Application#05-3134,David Park of Durabilt on behalf <br /> of Richard and Patricia Crosby,2705 Walters Port Lane,to allow the applicants time to revise their <br /> plans and consider their options for reducing hardcover. <br /> Rahn noted there is a lakeside deck. <br /> Curtis stated there is a brick patio and a second floor deck. <br /> Rahn inquired whether there is a deck down by the lake. <br /> Curtis stated the deck is used to access the dock. <br /> VOTE: Ayes 7,Nays 0. <br /> Curtis inquired what the Planning Commission would like to see for removals. <br /> Rahn stated the Planning Commission reviews the property as a whole and that any nonessential <br /> hardcover should be removed if it is above the 25 percent limit. <br /> Crosby inquired whether elimination of the right side of the horseshoe would be looked upon favorably. <br /> Leslie indicated he would look at it favorably. <br /> PAGE 29 <br />
