MINUTES OF THE <br /> - ORONO PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING <br /> Monday,June 20,2005 <br /> 6:00 o'clock p.m. <br /> (#05-3125 Christine Valerius, Continued) <br /> office of a general nature and granting of a side street setback variance to allow the second story <br /> stairway with the understanding the stairway will be a wrought iron staircase painted identical to <br /> the siding. <br /> Berg inquired whether the porch and shed encroached previously. <br /> Gundlach indicated the porch and shed did encroach by 15 feet,with the proposed staircase encroaching <br /> 1.5 feet. <br /> Leslie inquired whether the mechanical equipment could be located under the stairway. <br /> Valerius stated the equipment would be located under the stairway with the exception of the gas meter. <br /> Valerius indicated they are willing to screen the base of the staircase. <br /> Fisk stated they are planning to also landscape the front of the handicap ramp. <br /> VOTE: Ayes 5,Nays 1,Jurgens Opposed. <br /> PLANNING COMMISSION COMMENTS <br /> 17. REPORT OF PLANNING COMMISSION REPRESENTATIVES ATTENDING <br /> COUNCIL MEETINGS MAY 23 AND JUNE 13,2005 <br /> Kempf stated he attended the May 23rd meeting,with most of the items being placed on the Consent <br /> Agenda. Kempf stated Interspace West did express some concern that they were not on the agenda. <br /> Gundlach stated the Navarre Congregation application was approved,with the Boyers receiving a <br /> variance for 28 percent hardcover. <br /> Gaffron stated the Gustafson application was put on the Consent Agenda and that the Hogan application <br /> was tabled to allow the applicant time to submit a revised plan. <br /> 18.
