MINUTES OF THE <br />ORONO CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br />February 26, 2001 <br />• <br />CITY ADMINISTRATOR'S REPORT <br />*( #16) APPOINTMENT OF ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT ASSISTANT <br />Sansevere moved, White seconded, to appoint Denise Leskinen to the position of <br />Administrative Support Assistant at the pay rate of $13.70 per hour, which is Step 1 <br />of Level 4 of the Administrative Support/Technical/Public Works Employee Pay <br />Schedule, effective February 20, 2001. VOTE: Ayes 5, Nays 0. <br />( #17) PLANNING COMMISSION APPOINTMENTS <br />Sansevere moved, White seconded, to approve the appointment of Jeanne Mabusth to <br />fill the unexpired term on the Planning Commission that expires on March 31, 2002, and <br />to appoint Gary Welsh, Marc Fritzler, and David Rahn as alternate members of the <br />Planning Commission. <br />Mayor Peterson inquired who would be calling the alternates. <br />Gaffron stated Staff would like to maintain a minimum of five members on the Planning <br />Commission for each meeting. Staff will call an alternate if a member is going to miss a meeting. <br />Nygard stated in his opinion he would prefer to see a minimum of seven commissioners at each . <br />meeting. • <br />Hawn indicated they would like to have some consistency on the Planning Commission since <br />some applications appear before the Planning Commission a number of times. <br />Mayor Peterson suggested this item be reviewed in a year to see whether the number of <br />alternatives are appropriate and whether any changes should be made. <br />VOTE ON ABOVE MOTION: Ayes 5, Nays 0. <br />( #18) SCHEDULING OF WORK SESSION <br />The City Council directed City Staff to schedule a work session for March 22nd at 3:30 p.m., <br />to discuss issues relating to the new Highway 12 corridor, the City's telecommunications <br />antenna ordinance, and the annual property revaluation process. <br />CITY ATTORNEY'S REPORT <br />None <br />PAGE 20 <br />• <br />
