WHEREAS, �the City� of Orono has a signifi�cant ongoing � � <br /> concern regarding its water resources; and � <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Orono has reflected that concern in <br /> � its adoption of Ordinance 53 , of the Second Series as an <br /> amendment to the code Section 3 .10; and <br /> WHER$AS, the precipitation for 1988 is significantly <br /> below normal as was 1987; and <br /> • WH$REAS, recent rains have helped al leviate some of the <br /> concern, however, there is still a substantial concern for the <br /> longterm situation. . . <br /> NOW, THEREFORE BE IT R$SOLaED, that in accordance with <br /> Ordinance 53, Second Series the Orono City Council adopts a <br /> mandatory odd/even watering ban outdoors regardless of source of <br /> � supply including lake or wells throughout the community to be in <br /> effect until further notice. The exception to this ban is use of <br /> water for seeded and sodded lawns as outlined in Ordinance 53 , <br /> Second Series, Section 5 and is effective upon the Ordinance <br /> , publication. <br /> : � Adopted by the Orono City Council on this 25th day of <br /> �` July, 1988.
