MINUTES OF THE <br />ORONO CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br />MONDAY, JULY 24, 2000 <br />• <br />PARK COMMISSION COMMENTS <br />White thanked the City Council members for approving the improvements to the Navarre Park. <br />White commented the improvements that the Citv has been making over the past several years <br />have turned Orono into a more attractive city. <br />Mayor Jabbour commented he has been speaking with Jerry Rockvam, Spring Park Mayor, who has <br />indicated that they have been planting trees along County Road 15 in order to expand their existing <br />green space. <br />Kelley commented with the potential of the land to the west of the Navarre Park being developed, <br />the Parks Commission may want to consider the possibility of relocating the play equipment to <br />that area, which is adjacent to the Dakota Rail and could potentially be accessed by more residents <br />to avoid the need to spend additional money on play equipment in the future. <br />White stated the equipment being purchased for the Navarre Park is an asset and should be around <br />for a long time. White stated he is unable to comment on what would be ideal for that area until the <br />Parks Commission has an opportunity to review the plans for that park. <br />ZONING ADMINISTRATOR'S REPORT <br />*( #4) 42597 DENNIS K'RUMP, 25 STUBBS BAY ROAD NORTH— VARIANCE— • <br />RESOLUTION NO. 4502 <br />Peterson moved, Sansevere seconded, to approve and adopt RESOLUTION NO. 4502, <br />a Resolution granting variances to front yard setback and side yard setback to permit <br />construction of an addition to the existing residence located at 25 Stubbs Bay Road <br />North. VOTE: Ayes 5, Nays 0. <br />*( 95) #2598 DOUGLAS J. DAYTON, 300 SIXTH AVENUE NORTH — VARIANCE — <br />RESOLUTION NO. 4503 <br />Peterson moved, Sansevere seconded, to approve and adopt RESOLUTION NO. 4503, <br />a Resolution granting a variance to allow a lakeshore setback of 80' where 100' is <br />required to permit an addition to the existing residence located at 300 Sixth Avenue North. <br />VOTE: Ayes 5, Nays 0. <br />( #6) 92600 BRIAN KERBER, 740 ORCHARD PARK ROAD — VARIANCES <br />Brian Kerber, Applicant, was present. <br />Weinberger stated the Applicant is requesting variances to permit construction of a <br />60' by 40' (2,400 square foot) pole barn on his property located at the intersection of Orchard Park <br />Road and County Road 6, consisting of 4.8 acres. This property is located in the five acre zoning • <br />district, with the majority of the lots in this area consisting of acreage between 4.6 and 4.8 acres. <br />Page 2 <br />
