• . <br /> Big Island & Deering Island Inspection <br /> August 3 , 1983 <br /> Page 3 <br /> Remaining Biq Island: The cabins look very good and clean. <br /> Absolutely no evidence of dumping or any other activity like that. <br /> We did find one new sauna built right on the shore without <br /> permits and one or two new decks or stairs which we will follow <br /> up . <br /> Deering Island: Inspected the house with Art Swift . He still <br /> complains that the owner Wayne Byrd is not providing code <br /> improvements as required in his sale to Byrd. We found <br /> 1) a "septic tank" installed last year by a Mound resident <br /> without permits , non-conforming and non-functioning. Swift <br /> still carries his bodily wastes out of the house by hand and <br /> deposits them on his garden. 2) Plumbing work done without <br /> permit and not to code , includinq an exterior above-ground <br /> line to the new " septic tank" . 3) A new electric furnace <br /> installed without permits - no contractor ' s name �� evidence . <br /> 4) No change in plumbing or wiring hazards . We will follow <br /> through to correct, or issue tags if necessary. <br />
