MINUTES OF THE <br /> ORONO PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING <br /> Monday,June 18,2001 <br /> (#01-2688 Kirtland Woodhouse,Continued) <br /> Gaffron stated the standard height requirement is 30 feet,with the City currently having no standards <br /> for screening in residential areas. <br /> Smith suggested that perhaps the resident talk with Staff if she has additional concerns regarding the <br /> codes regulating the construction of a house in this area. <br /> Kluth stated since it is private property,the owner is free to build on the property as long as it meets <br /> City Codes. <br /> Leo Bullock, 1160 Heritage Lane, inquired whether the new lot would have lake access. <br /> Gaffron stated the two westerly lots would not have lake access. Gaffron stated only the east lot will <br /> have access to the lake. <br /> Bullock inquired whether both lots would need to pay a park dedication fee. <br /> Gaffron stated the new lot would not be subject to a park dedication fee since it is a lot of record. <br /> Tom Crosby,Attorney-at-Law, stated they are not creating a new buildable lot. Crosby stated the <br /> west lot currently is a buildable lot and they are merely changing the lot lines at this time. <br /> Gaffron stated the driveway would only serve three homes. <br /> Bullock inquired whether the wetlands in the area would be impacted. <br /> Kluth stated they would not be. <br /> Smith moved,Hawn seconded,to recommend approval of Application#01-2688,Kirtland C. <br /> Woodhouse, 1780 Shoreline Drive,lot line rearrangement subject to the conditions outlined in <br /> the June 14,2001 Planner's Report. VOTE: Ayes 7,Nays 0. <br /> (Recess taken from 8:38 p.m.—8:44 p.m.) <br /> NEW BUSINESS,CONTINUED <br /> (#5) #01-2681 ROGER A.DAY, 1205 SOUTH BROWN ROAD,VARIANCE <br /> Roger Day, Applicant,was present. <br /> The Certificate of Mailing and Affidavit of Publication were noted. <br /> Bottenberg stated the Applicants are requesting a variance to permit construction of a 16' by 6' <br /> addition to the rear of the existing residence and a 12' by 6' porch to the front of the residence.
