Supreme Court Decision Regarding Variances <br /> <br />City Attorney Soren Mattick reviewed the Supreme Court Case related to a variance request for a property <br />located in Minnetonka. Per Minnesota Statute, to establish the “undue hardship” required for a variance, a <br />variance applicant must establish that the “property in question cannot be put to a reasonable use” without <br />the variance. The court decision may have an impact on how cities process variance applications. <br /> <br />2. Processing Complex Zoning Applications – Start to Finish <br /> <br />City Attorney Soren Mattick outlined issues for Staff, Planning Commission and Council to consider as they <br />review complex zoning applications. <br /> <br />3. Comments Regarding Information Updates <br /> <br />There were no comments. <br /> <br />4. Other Issues of Current Interest <br /> <br />Council will review parking options along the Dakota Rail Trail at an upcoming work session before scheduling <br />further discussion with Boe Carlson of the Three Rivers Park District. <br /> <br />Council approved submittal of a change to the Met Council to be incorporated with the Comp Plan Update <br />that will allow an increase in square footage of the building on the site located at 875 Wayzata Boulevard <br />West. <br /> <br />The meeting closed at 8:33 p.m. <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br />________________________________________ _______________________________________ <br />Linda S.
