Provide#5 x 4'-0" (2'-0"
each leg)corner bars at 24" on center, horizontal reinforcing, at corner of wall with 3-#5 vertical
support bars. All wall openings larger than 12" shall have 2-#5 all sides of openings. Extend
reinforcing 2'-0" beyond each edge of opening. Wall reinforcing is continuous through columns.
PRECAST CONCRETE UNITS
The design of all precast concrete units shall conform to A.C.I. 318-83. Prestress units must
sustain the loads indicated in addition to all other dead loads. Plank shall be prestressed hollow-
core slabs, proportioned for the loads noted on the drawings. Upon installation, plank shall be
essentially past the effects of deformation due to creep, and shall have camber not over L/360 of
the span. Such camber shall be uniform from plank to plank. All headers at openings in precast
shall be furnished by the precast supplier. Place mechanical openings, not shown on plans,
between webs in the precast plank units. Submit complete shop drawings to architect for
approval, showing the erection plan, all bearing conditions, and anchorage details. Calculations
certified by a professional engineer will be required for precast units and anchorages.
STRUCTURAL STEEL
All structural steel shall be designed, fabricated and erected according to the American Institute
of Steel Construction (A.I.S.C.) standard specifications. Structural steel supplier shall supply all
cap plates, bearing assemblies, base plates, stiffeners, splices, connections and shall design
same unless noted on drawings. All welding shall be done using the shielded arc process using
E70 electrodes in accordance with the rules of the American Welding Society (A.W.S.) Structural
Welding Code. All welders shall be certified using the rules of the American Welding Society.
CONCRETE COVER ON REINFORCING
Footings 3" clear bottom and sides
Walis 1'/z" clear inside face
Slab on Grade Center reinforcing in slab
CONCRETE TOPPING
Unless otherwise noted, center 6x6-W1.4xW1.4 WWF in all concrete topping slabs.
