,

3) Signs of wetland hydrology were noted and were compared to field criteria such
as depth to shaliow water table and depth of soil saturation found in the soil pits.
Wetiand edges were marked with pink pin flags. 4-foot wood lath marked with orange"wetland
boundary" flagging tape or flagging tied on vegetation may be used if site conditions warrant. The
wetland was mapped with a Trimble Pathfinder Pro XRS unit which is accurate to 0.5 meters in
the horizontal plane.
Wetland classification follows the methods used by the Nationai Wetlands Inventory. The circular
39 classification is also given.
At least one sample point transect crosses each delineated wetland edge. These transects
consist of an upland sample point, and a wetland sample point. Other sample points may be
located in areas which have one or more of the wetland vegetation, soils, or hydrologic
characteristics present, or where questionable conditions exist. Sample points are marked with
orange pin flags. Sample data sheets are found in Appendix A.
Results
One wetland was delineated on the far northeast of the parcel (Figure 5). This wetland was
described as follows:
Basin 1
Basin 1 was a Type 5 PUBG open water wetland with an emergent layer of 20% narrowleaf
cattail, 20% lesser duckweed, and 50% open water. Other species noted included reed
canarygrass, sedge, jewelweed, sandbar willow, peachleaf willow, and black willow. The
underlying soils were Hamel and hydrology was provided through precipitation, groundwater, and
runoff.
The National Wetland Inventory Map (NWI) (Figure 2} does not identify a wetland in the location
of basin#1 flagged on the subject site.
According to the DNR Protected Waters Map (PWI) (Figure 4) of Hennepin County no protected
water basins exist on this parcel.
According to the Hennepin County Soil Survey (Figure 3)the following hydric soils existed on the
parcet:
Hamel
Photographs were taken of the site and are being retained at Jacobson Environmental, PLLC.
2
