We
have designed the new members and foundations using a roof and floor dead load of 15 psf, a snow load of
35 psf,and a 40 and 100 psf floor live Ioad in accordance with the Minnesota State Building Code. Our work
only includes designing the new members as shown at the above reference project and is based on
drawings provided by you and from our conversations.
Attached are sheets S1.Q0—S1.02, A4.00,and A6.01 —A6.03 with "redlined"framing notes and showing the
new members and cennections. All framing shall be shored and temporarily braced as required by the
contractor and all minimum nailing shall be in accordance with IRC Table R602.3(1). Lumber shall be#2
SPF and#2 D. Fir with treated lumber to be#2 S. Pine and engineered lumber to have Fb=2950 psi wfth E
=2.0. Our calculations assume all lumber is of good quality and dces not have large splits and checks and
shall be visually inspected by the contractor at the time of construction. All fasteners in contact with treated
lumber shall be G185 hot dipped galvanized or equal and rebar shall be grade 60. Concrete used for
footings (4"slump}shall have a 28 day compressive strength of 3000 psi including pea-rock masonry grout
having an 8"— 10"slump. Concrete slabs shall have a compressive strength of 4000 psi with 6%air
entrainment. The footings have been designed as typical spread footings based on a presumptive load-`
bearing value of 2000 psf in accordance with Table R401.4.1 of the IRC. The soils beneath the footings shall
be granular in nature and shall not contain any organics, roots, or top soil. I am also available for possible
site visits to verify general structural drawing compliance as required.
When installed as indicated above, the new framing mernbers and foundations shown on the attached
sheets shall support the loads as required in accordance with the Minnesota State Building Code.
