Cit � o� ORONO � � <br /> �' . . . . . .:�. <br /> � � � � � _ __ :�,, � <br /> RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL ���� � <br /> � NO. 2295 <br /> � , <br /> ' • • • . <br /> .. ;F,�. <br /> , :1' <br /> � �. <br /> 1� <br /> ; <br /> A R13SOLIITION GRANTING <br /> VARIANCES TO <br /> 1diDNICIPAL ZONIIdG CODE . <br /> SECTION 10.23, SIIBDIVISION 6 (B) <br /> APiD S$CTgON 10.22, SIIBDIVISION 2 <br /> FIL� #1213 <br /> W�$1tEAS, Rollin Lacy (hereinafter "the applicant") is the owner <br /> of the property located at 2655 North Shore Drive within the City of Orono <br /> (hereinafter "City" ) and Iegally described on Exhibit A attached <br /> (hereinafter "the property") ; and <br /> WHER$AS, the applicant has applied to the City for a variance to <br /> Municipal Zoning Code Section 10.23, Subdivision 6 (B) to permit the <br /> construction of an attached garage 30 feet from the side lot line adjacent <br /> to an unimproved public right-of-way that would require a 50 feet setback <br /> • and per Section 10.22, Subdivision 2 seeks a variance for an excess of <br /> 3,770 s.f. or 10.2� of hardcover, resulting from new structural and other <br /> improvements within the 75-250' setback area where only 9,225 s.f. or 25� <br /> is allowed. The property contained 11,100 s.f. or 30.1� of existing hard- <br /> cover, new structural and non-structural improvements resulted in an <br /> increase of 1,895 s.f. or 5.1� within the 75-250' setback area. <br /> PiOW� THEItBFOREo �E IT R$SOLVED by the City Council of Orono, <br /> Minnesota: <br /> �'IIi1DIAiGS <br /> l. This application was reviewed as Zoning File #1213. <br /> 2. The property is located in the LR-lA Single Family Lakeshore <br /> Residential Zoning District. The property consists of 75,100 s.f. or <br /> 1.72 acres exclusive of roadways and public easements. � <br /> 3. The Orono Council reviewed this application on November 9, 1987 <br /> and recommended approval of the proposed variances based upon the� <br /> fol lowing findings: <br /> A) The property can be classified as both a corner and lakeshore <br /> lot - surrounded by public accesses on the north and east and the <br /> Iake on the south. <br /> B) The house was placed on the property without consideration <br /> • for Town Road along the east lot Iine and could have. been <br /> positioned further west. <br /> C) The interior design of house would not permit placement of <br /> the garage on the west side of house.
