Feig and Timothy D. Johnson <br /> f i led a petition with the City of Orono requesting vacation of a portion of <br /> drainage and utility easements originally dedicated within the plat of <br /> Laurent Addition, legally described as follows: <br /> An easement for drainage and utility purposes as shown on the recorded <br /> plat of LAURENT ADDITION, being 5 feet on each side of the Easterly <br /> and Southerly lines of Lot 1, Block 1, LAURENT ADDITION, not including <br /> that portion of the 10 foot drainage and utility easement adjoining <br /> the Northerly lines of Lots 1 and 2, and not including that portion of <br /> the 10 foot drainage and utility easement adjoining the Westerly lines <br /> of Lots 1 and 2. <br /> WHEREAS, after due published and posted notice, a public hearing <br /> was held before the Orono Planning Commission on July 20, 1987, regarding <br /> said vacation and all persons interested were given an opportunity to be <br /> heard; and <br /> WHEREAS, after due standing and consideration, the Planning <br /> Commission recommended approval of the requested vacation and the Council <br /> of the City of Orono finds that said vacation, as proposed, is in keeping <br /> with the public interest in consideration of the following findings: <br /> 1. The vacation does not affect access to or use of any adjoining <br /> property. <br /> 2. The City has not and does not intend to develop, improve or use <br /> the portion of dedicated drainage and utility easement described <br /> above. <br /> 3. The portion of dedicated drainage and utility easement as it <br /> exists serves no public purpose. <br /> 4. The portion of dedicated drainage \and utility easement, as a <br /> result of a concurrent lot line rearrangement no longer coincides with <br /> the boundary between the properties at 627 and 629 North Ferndale <br /> Road. <br /> Page 1 of 2 <br />
