MINUTES OF THE ORONO PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING <br />• HELD OCTOBER 18, 1993 <br />( #5) ALLEN AND KATHLEEN BAKKE - CONT. <br />2. By taking the removals proposed at Bakke's, they come very close to <br />conformance of the hardcover requirements. <br />3. Fewer concessions were granted by the Sieff's. <br />Smith wanted to be sure that Planning Commission was not sending messages to residents that <br />you can "go do what you want to do and hope you don't get caught; and the longer you go <br />without getting caught, the more likely it is that you can continue to have what it is that you <br />wanted in the first place". <br />Schroeder noted that the applicant apparently had conversation with the Building Official at the <br />time the construction was done. <br />( #6) #1880 THOMAS AND JANE REGNIER <br />1205 ELMWOOD AVENUE - VARIANCE (RENEWAL) - PUBLIC HEARING 9:07 - 9:10 <br />P.M. <br />The Affidavit of Publication and Certificate of Mailing were noted. <br />Thomas Regnier was present. <br />Gaffron explained this was a renewal application with no changes from the original application <br />approved in 1990. The proposal requests a side street setback variance for construction of an <br />addition. <br />Schroeder asked about removing the fence. Regnier confirmed that the fenced area would be <br />removed with the landscaping improvements. <br />Smith asked if the graveled area was actively used for parking noting there was a car and two <br />boats at this site. Regnier explained the boat is waiting for some repairs and the yellow car will <br />be removed from the site. <br />It was moved by Lindquist, seconded by Smith, to approve Application #1880 for Thomas <br />Regnier, 1205 Elmwood Avenue, for the renewal variance of a side street setback variance for <br />construction of additions to the existing residence. Ayes 6, nays 0. <br />( #7) #1882 JOHN M.
