This amendment would allow Hennepin County, and only Hennepin <br />County, to install a dock for emergency access. Staff and the Planning Commission recommend <br />approval of the text amendment as drafted. <br /> <br />Planning Commission Recommendation <br />The Planning Commission reviewed the draft on March 21st. With aid from Gabriel Jabbour, the <br />Commission accepted the ordinance, and added a statement that the dock structure should be <br />fenced and gated. <br /> <br />The Commission discussed limiting the number of County Docks within the community, but <br />ultimately did not suggest a formal change to the draft, agreeing with the assertion that another <br />dock, meeting all of the criteria, would be beneficial to the city. <br /> <br />Planning Staff Recommendation <br />Staff supports the changes suggested by the Planning Commission, and recommends approval of <br />the ordinance as drafted. <br /> <br />Action Requested: <br />Approve the amendment to 78-1 definitions and the LR-1A zoning district to allow County <br />Docks to be a permitted use. <br /> <br />List of Exhibits: <br />Exhibit A.
