Purpose. The purpose of this action item is to gain Council approval to proceed with the <br />rehabilitation of Well #1. <br /> <br />2. Background. Well rehabilitation should take place every 7-10 years to ensure issues are detected <br />early and before they become major problems. Well #1 last went through a deliberate inspection and <br />maintenance process in 1999. As an addition to the water plant upgrade project of 2015 water level <br />transducers were to be installed in all three wells. Due to the configuration of well #1 this was not <br />possible. <br /> <br />3. Scope. Work includes removing and replacing vertical turbine line shaft; inspecting and <br />repairing the pump and electric motor; replacing bearings; painting; and installing a water level <br />transducer. <br /> <br />4. Cost & Funding. The low quote is for $24,245 from Bergerson – Caswell, Inc. of Maple Plain. <br /> <br />Fund Cost Amount Allocated <br />in the CIP <br />Est. Work will be completed in March/April to ensure full capacity prior to the summer high <br />water usage period. <br /> <br />COUNCIL ACTION REQUESTED: <br />Consider a motion to accept the quotation in the amount of $24,245 from Bergerson – Caswell, <br />Inc. for rehabilitation of Well #1.
