The tiZe l.ine at the end of the 1.ov,�er drainfieXd extends to the surface of the ground, a1.Xowing for a surface discharge to occur at any given time. Because we have very I.ittZe information on the extent of your system, we can onZy surmise that, based on site inspections, you have two drainfiel.d trenches approximatel.y 100' in xength and perhaps 2-3' wide. We have no soi1. testing on fiXe to verify the capabi�.ity of soi�.s in which that system is I.ocated, hence we cannot give a reasonabJ.e estimat�vn of the actual. capabi�.ity of the system. In order to remove the vio].ation, we woul.d recommend that you hire a licensed septic system contractor to remove the 10-20' section of drainfieJ.d trench which has no cover and which has a pipe extending to the surface, and back fixl. that trench with native cJ.ay I.oam material.. Once this is done, your system wix]. have no surface out].et. Because this surface outl.et may have acted as a rel.ief overf I.ow, there is a possibZity that once this is done, the system wi].1. not continue to function to treat and I.ega�ly dispose of a].]. the sewage wastes entering it.
