2. The garden area will be hand raked in order to create a smooth, firm seedbed. <br /> 3. This fall, in the buffer area, apply Roundup Originalmax� and Garlon 3A� (or equal) <br /> herbicide as per manufacturer's directions to actively growing vegetation. Allow a <br /> minimum of 20 days before disturbing the site with other procedures. <br /> 4. This fall or next spring, burn off the dead vegetation by implementing a controlled <br /> burn using appropriate procedures, equipment and permits. If burning isn't feasible, <br /> mow off the dead vegetation. <br /> 5. Allow the site to green up, followed by an application of Roundup Originalmax° <br /> herbicide as per manufacturer's directions. Allow a minimum of 10 days before <br /> disturbing the vegetation with other procedures. <br /> 6. Harrow or rake the soil to create an open seedbed. <br /> D. Seed and Seedin�: <br /> 1. Seeding dates shall be in the spring or summer before August 10th or in the fall <br /> between September 20t" and freeze-up. <br /> 2. Once the soil has been prepared, the grass seed will be hand broadcast throughout <br /> the project area. <br /> 3. A raking will follow to incorporate the seed into the soil. <br /> 4. Following the raking, flower seed will be hand sown on top of the soil. No additional <br /> raking is required. <br /> 5. The seed mixes shall consist of the following species and amounts: <br /> Raingarden Mix <br /> Grasses Ibs./project area <br /> Tall wet mix: <br /> 43%Big bluestem, 15%Indian grass, 10%Canada wild rye, <br /> 8%Switch grass, 2%Little bluestem by PLS weight. <br /> 8%Cord grass, 5%Wool grass,4%Green bulrush, <br /> 2%Blue joint grass, 1%Fringed brome, <br /> 1%Virginia wild rye, 1%Giant bur-reed by bulk weight....................% <br /> 3 <br />
