7-P TESTING NC. Steven B. Schirmers • MPCA Cert.No. 627
951 Katydid Lane NE • St. Michaei, MN 55376 • (612) 497-3566
FAX (612)-497-5011
State License#394
July 21, 2000
Tony Eiden Company
4485 Bayside Road
Orono, Henn. Co., MN
This site has an existing pressurized mound system sized for a 3 bedroom home which
is approximately 7 years old. Soil borings completed through the existing mound at the
upslope corner of the rock bed found the top of the rock at e1.1032.5 and the bottom of
the rock at 1031.4 and the original soil at 1029.9. The sand depth is 18" below the rock
bed at the upslope edge of the rock bed. A quart jar test found 1/32" of sediment which
is adequate for mound construction. The existing rock bed is 10' x 41'which wilf require
an additional 10' x 21' for a 5 bedroom home. The existing tanks will need to be
abandoned, pumped and filled with soil and new tanks installed. The existing well will
also need to be abandoned.
The existing house will be removed, no equipment travel is allowed west of the house
for removal. The City of Orono requires no disturbed soil within 20' of the system. The
addition to the system is very near the existing house which will need approval from the
City.
This on-site sewage treatment system is designed for a Type 1, five bedroom home, in
accordance with the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency Chapter 7080 and locaf
ordinances.
The soils on this site are SCS soils mapped - KkB - Kilkenny loam. The seasonafiy
saturated soils were located at 14" to 44" (mottled soil}. Due to the seasonally saturated
soils, a Pressurized Mound System will need to be instalfed to treat septic effluent. The
bottom of the rock must be located at least 3' above the saturated soils.
The soils at a depth of 12" have a percofation rate of 6.0 mpi.
1
