Christine Mattson
From: Christine Mattson
Sent: Wednesday, April 11, 2012 9:24 AM
To: 'dec@qwestoffice.net'
Cc: 'georgenorling@qwestoffice.neY; 'tdk360@gmail.com'
Subject: 2012-00244/ 3026 Casco Pt Rd
David,
I had our engineer review the survey you submitted. Below are his comments.
From: Jesse Struve
Sent: Wednesday, April il, 2012 9:11 AM
To: Christine Mattson
Subject: 20120411 3026 Casco Pt Rd
Christine,
I have reviewed the permit application and drawing dated Feb 27 which was attached to the email dated 4/11/12. I
have the following comments:
• The wall is a stepped wall which is shown to be at 4' in combined height. If the wall exceeds 4' in height,
engineered design and details will be required. Engineered plans and details are also required for tiered
retaining walls over 4' in height where the tiered walls are separated by less than two times the height of the
larger wall.
• There is also some confusion on the contours because there are red dashed lines (assumed existing), green solid
lines (assumed proposed), and black solid and dashed lines (I believe existing). This should be corrected. I
would recommend light grey dashed lines for existing and solid black lines for proposed. Also, the proposed
contours should also be shown in the main survey and not just in the zoomed in portion.
• The permit requires the entire survey to be to scale. The drawing could not be printed to scale.
Feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns.
Jesse Struve, PE
Director of Public Works/City Engineer
City of Orono
(952) 249-4661 - Direct
(952) 249-4616- Fax
www.ci.orono.mn.us
