Qver a year ago,
you may recall, the Cauncil received complaints from the Casca Point
neighbcrhood addressing th.e intense use of these ramp on che Cove
shoreline and o£ the negative impact creatd by he un-contrlled
proliferation of i.hese structures alonc this unique shorF ine.
Council , in rviewin.g Lhe matter , concurred with staff ' s
interpretatian that the;e ar.e structures eqlizing bsilcing permits
and ecause of their locatian within the lakeshore protected a.rea (0
to 75 feet fror shorQl9ne) would require varbances. In addition, if
he insta 1 lat?on of the ramg required excavation or f i 1 ing, a
conditional use prmit wuld also be required.
