_E .
-------- Original Message --------
Subject: 2868 Casco Point Road, Orono
From: Catherine Bach <cbachCaminnehahacreek.org>
Date: Tue, March 20, 2012 3:12 pm
To: "ericCamndeadwyler.com" <ericCamndeadwyler.com>
Cc: Melanie Curtis <MCurtis@ci.orono.mn.us>, "cmattsonCcci.orono.mn.us"
<cmattsonCcci.orono.mn.us>
Hi Eric,
Following our phone conversation yesterday, I was unable to find an approved
wetland delineation for the above mentioned property in our records. The
proposed grading project may also need a MCWD permit in addition to a City
permit. Before a District permit could be issued, a wetland delineation would
need to be done within the growing season (NMay 1 - Oct 15) and the report
submitted to me for approval under the Minnesota Wetland Conservation Act
(WCA), along with the attached WCA Boundary & Type application form. I have
also attached a list of certified wetland delineators to this e-mail, with some
companies that commonly work in the Minnehaha Creek watershed highlighted in
yellow. The wetland delineation would need to be done prior to any District
permits being issued to make sure wherever your grading isn't wetland. I've
included an image below of our wetland inventory map that shows an unclassified
wetland partially on the property.
Will the project involve a tear-down/rebuild of the principal residential structure
resulting in an increase in hardcover on the property? If so, a wetland buffer
would be required, and you would need to do a function & values assessment
using the current version of the Minnesota Routine Assessment Method (MnRAM)
to determine the management class of any wetlands on the property and the
associated buffer width. I can give you a better idea of the permitting
requirements if you can give me a better idea of what you're proposing to do.
Feel free to call or e-mail with questions--I'll be in touch.
Catherine Bach
District Technician
Minnehaha Creek Watershed District
18202 Minnetonka Boulevard
Deephaven, MN 55391
Direct: (952) 641-4504
Main Office: (952) 471-0590
Fax: 952-471-0682
www.minnehahacreek.orq
z
