� � Sec.13.04 RIGHTS OF SUBJECTS OF D?.TA Subd. 1. Type of data. The rights of individual on whom che data is storcd or[o be storcd shall be as set forth in this secdon. Subd.2. 'Ihis requiremenc shall noc apply whan an individual is asked to supply invesdgadve dara,pursuanc to secdon 13.82, subdivision 5, to a[aw enforcemeat o�cer. Access to data bp individual. Upon requesc to a responsible auchoriry,an individual shall be informed whether he is che subject of stored daci on individuals,and whecher it is e(assified as public, priva�e or confidendal. Upon his further request,an individual who is the subjecc of stored pr.vate or public dara on individuals shall be shown che dara wichout any charge to hirn and, if he desires, shall be informed of[he concent and meaning of chat dan. After an individual has been shown[be priva�e data and informed of ics meaning,the data need not be disclosed to him for six monchs thereafcer unless a dispute or acdon pursuant co [his secaon is pending or addiaoaal data on the individual has been collecced or crear�d. The responsibla auchoriry shall provid=copies of che privace or public data upon request by che individual subjecc of che daca. The responsible authoriry may require [he requesring person to pay the acnial cos�s of makin¢, cerrifying,and compiling the copies. The responsible auchoriry shall comply immediately, if possible, wi�h any request made pursuant to this subdivision,or wichin five days of the dace of the requesc,excluding Sacurdays,Sundays and legal holidays,if immediate compliance is not possibte. If he cannot comply wi[h the request wi[hin rhat ame,he shail so inform[he individual,and may have an addidonal five days within which to comply wich the request,exciuding Saturdays, Sundays and legal holidays. Subd.4. Procedure when data is not accurate or complete. An individual may contest tha accuracy or completeness of public or private data conceming himself. To exercise rhis right,an individual shall nodfy in wridng che responsible au�horiry describing the nature of the disagreement. The responsible authoriry shall within 30 days eicher: (a)correc[che data found[o be inaccurate or incomplece and aaempc to nodfy past recipienc�of inaccurate or incomplece data, including recipien�s named by che individual; or(b)notify�he individual tha[he believes the data to be correct. Data in dispuce shail be disc(osed only if[he individual's statem�nc of disagreement is included wi[h the disclosed data. The decemvnadon of the responsible authoriry may be appealed pursuanc to the provisions of the adminisaarive procedure act relacing to concested cases.
